HovaCAL® N Basic

Hova CAL N Basic
Hova CAL N Basic

The HovaCAL® N Basic is a compact calibration gas generator designed for the precise dosing and evaporation of water (H2O) and aqueous solutions of HCl, NH3, HF, CH2O and HgCl2.

It consists of a peristaltic pump, an external balance, a gas flow controller, a temperature controller and an evaporation system.

The HovaCAL® N Basic is designed for a total gas flow of 600 l/h.

A gas flow between 3 and 10 Nl/min is required for a stable evaporation result.

The liquid flow can be between 0.1 and 3 g/min. The evaporation temperature is usually between 120 and 180 °C.

The device is operated via software on a PC or notebook, which is connected via the USB interface.

To generate a defined water vapour concentration, the gas flow is controlled by a mass flow controller. The liquid flow is controlled manually by the user via the peristaltic pump and balance.

  • Reliable
    • All flows and thus the gas concentrations are traceable
    • Point of use generation: the separate evaporator generates the test gas where it is needed, so there are no losses
    • High temperature and humidity of the test gas reduce memory effects
    • Significantly shorter run-in times compared to dry test gases
  • User-friendly
    • Simple flow control for gases and liquids
    • Intuitive software allows you to enter the desired concentrations, no need for your own calculations
    • No more carrying heavy test gas cylinders
    • Compact, lightweight, portable case unit
  • Versatile
    • For many components of emission measurement technology

Wherever gas analysers need to be checked and the necessary test gases are not available in a suitable form, the HovaCAL® is used to generate test gases:

  • In emission monitoring of waste incinerators, power plants and cement plants. Due to the components to be monitored (HCl, HF, NH3 and HgCl2), hot-measuring analyser systems are used, which are adjusted with hot, humid test gases of these components.
  • Hot-measuring FTIR analysers are used in particular for exhaust gas analysis of motor vehicles. These analyse water vapour and ammonia simultaneously, among other things. The corresponding test gas is generated with the HovaCAL®.
  • In the field of moisture measurement technology, verification is often a challenge, because with the conventional saturation method, high water vapour contents cannot be achieved or can only be changed slowly. With the HovaCAL®, the desired humidity can be set quickly and precisely.
  • In the field of mercury monitoring, which is considered a speciality of flue gas analysis due to its small measuring ranges, HovaCAL® is used to generate test gases with a composition similar to that of flue gas.

Vaporiser HovaPOR

The HovaPOR vaporiser is used to completely evaporate the dispensed liquid. It has a liquid inlet, a gas inlet and a gas outlet.

The HovaPOR vaporiser is adapted to the desired working range of 600 l/h.

The HovaPOR vaporiser is available in versions for operation at 110 V and 230 V mains voltage.

Balance

The HovaCAL N Basic is supplied with the necessary balance for dosing liquids. This includes a windbreak with an integrated hose connection and suction hose, a transport case and a liquid template.

viewCAL N Basic software

The HovaCAL® N Basic is operated via the viewCAL N Basic software using a notebook or PC. Intuitive to use, it allows the input of the total gas flow as well as the input and output concentrations. All measurement data is recorded and stored. In addition, time-dependent concentration profiles can be created and run.

Consumables

The HovaCAL N Basic is supplied with all the necessary consumables. Optionally, an additional complete set of consumables can be ordered. The consumables can also be reordered individually.
